SC Tornator SRL’s forests in Romania certified
The forestry company SC Tornator SRL has obtained an FSC®(FSC-C132426), Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC-C132426) certificate for its Romanian forests. The forest management certificate covers all of the company’s forests in Romania, close to 12.000 hectares.
“There are more than 2,5 million hectares FSC certified forests, out of Romania’s 6,5 million hectares’ total forest cover. Remaining competitive in such field, for SC Tornator SRL it was substantial to become FSC certified,” says Melinda Sandi, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.
“FSC certification is in line with the Group’s strategy, and another step in developing the business in Romania,” says Zoltán A. Kósy, Country Manager, Romania, Tornator Oyj.
Tornator started preparing for the certification from the beginning of 2016. Certification auditors from Soil Association awarded an FSC certificate to the company on the 13th of January 2017. From this point SC Tornator SRL will be able to provide FSC certified wood to its customers.
